Thank you for sharing your beautiful Max with us. Yes, it made me cry - as I, too, had a "rescue" Max - who also crossed the rainbow bridge much too soon - and was one of the best dogs I've ever known - and there have been many in my 74 years. My Maxie was a chow cross - he had been owned by a neighbor, who used him as a "guard dog" in vacant houses, often leaving him alone for a week at a time with only the toilet to drink from (I didn't know all that at the time). Max ran away and was picked up by Animal Control - and the owner got him back and tied him in the front yard where he instigated fights between Maxie and his part wolf who had been trained with a cattle prod. Through all of that beautiful chow coat, you could feel every bone in Maxie's body. I "suggested" that they put Max in my back yard to keep the dogs from fighting. By the end of the first day, Max had been taken to my vet, neutered and licensed in my name. They never got him back., and he lived the remainder of his life as a beloved friend to my family. He was the first dog I'd had as an adult that had to be pts - and I sat on the grass holding his big head in my lap, as my wonderful vet helped him gently cross the bridge. I KNOW that someday Max and the other furkids I've lost over the years will be waiting for me on the other side of that bridge. I've loved all my animals, but my Maxie Waxie Pretty Boy was very special. He, and all the others remain in my heart. I've had many dogs since Max - including 4 beagles now. Like you, animal research is one of my "pet peeves". Thanks again for sharing your beautiful Max with us.

I was part of a beagle rescue a few years ago and I will never forget the pain I saw in those little eyes.To watch them touch the grass for the first time was so overwhelming. To help them adjust to loving hands that would not hurt them was amazing. 100 beagles were rescued from a testing lab that day and all found loving homes. It will always remain in my heart to know they are now in a better place. We need to spread the word about animal testing and their rights. I will pass this along and hope all of you will do the same.

After all we did to try to cure and save our beagle Sam from cancer we did not succeed and the hurt will last a lifetime. And now to read about this HORRID testing of beagles just sickens me. Nature is one thing but to IMPOSE death like this is unconscionable and beyond cruel in any civilized society. RIP Sam and to all your brothers & sisters!

In February of 2012 several companies who were on PETA's list of compassionate companies were removed as they began to test on animals again in order to comply with foreign government requirements that state that testing on animals must be conducted in order to market their products in these foreign countries. Among the companies removed were long time PETA list companies such as Avon, Mary Kay, Estee Lauder and L'Occitaine. Here are Juno Rescued Beagle we have conducted our own inquiry and discovered that both Revlon and Almay sell their products in these overseas countries that require animal testing. And while PETA has not removed either of these companies from their compassionate shopping guide as of this writing we have taken the position that they must be complying with foreign regulations and resuming animal testing. With well over 1,500 companies on Juno's Compassionate Shopping Guide there remains something for everyone.
Thank you for your compassion.
